Simulation on Vortex Induced Vibration of Circular Cylinder
In order to clearly analyze the vortex and the vibration caused by fluid-structure interaction between fluid and rigid body, we need to establish a precise and efficient CFD simultion setup. In the first stage, we focused on the dynamic mesh technique. The results showed that deforming mesh was more efficient than overset mesh. Afterwards, the amplitude data was validated by changing the natural frequency of the rigid body under Reynold’s number of 10000. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of these two methods were discussed.
